The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), the nation's largest and oldest professional society of basic, translational, clinical, and prevention cancer research scientists, is now accepting applications for eight Research Fellowships in 2004 for postdoctoral and clinical fellows. Basic, translational, and clinical fellowships are available, as well as a tumor site-specific fellowship in translational lung cancer research and a fellowship in cancer prevention research. The online application deadline is Wednesday, October 15, 2003.
AACR Research Fellowships provide one-, two-, or three-year grants of $30,000-$35,000 per year to support salary and benefits for postdoctoral and clinical fellows. In addition, recipients will receive registration and support for travel expenses to attend the 2004 AACR Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida and accept the award. Unless noted, awards are open to investigators conducting research anywhere in the world. Employees, subcontractors, or trainees of a national government or private industry are not eligible for these awards.
Candidates for the following three Research Fellowships must, at the start of the award term on July 1, 2004, have been a fellow for at least one year (12 months) but not more than two years (24 months).
- AACR-Anna D. Barker Fellowship in Basic Cancer Research
- AACR-Irving Weinstein Foundation Fellowship in Basic Cancer Research (U.S. institutions only)
- AACR-Pennsylvania Department of Health Fellowship in Basic Cancer Research (Pennsylvania institutions only)
Candidates for the following five Research Fellowships must, at the start of the award term on July 1, 2004, have been a fellow for at least two years (24 months) but not more than four years (48 months).
