Chronic Headaches Of Children Treated At Cedars-Sinai
Cedars-Sinai Medical Center offers a Pediatric Headache Clinic that specializes in diagnosing and treating the headaches of children and adolescents, especially challenging and complicated cases. Because headaches can be caused by a host of sources--ranging from tension and hormonal dysfunctions to meningitis and brain tumors--an occasional headache should not be overly alarming but recurring headaches should not be overlooked.

Van Gogh Exhibit Is "Bridge To Wellness"
The Van Gogh exhibit at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art may seem like an unlikely setting for re-entry into normal life after a stroke, spinal cord, brain injury or other disabling disorder, such as Guillain-Barre Syndrome. But that's what it was for seven rehab patients from Cedars-Sinai.

New Treatments For Hepatitis B And C
Scientists are studying new treatments to combat two viruses that cause chronic liver inflammation, can have catastrophic consequences, and are expected to become increasingly devastating over the next decade. Chronic hepatitis B is currently blamed for about 6,000 deaths a year in the United States. Hepatitis C is responsible for 10,000 deaths but those numbers are expected to jump sharply -- perhaps to as high as 30,000 hepatitis C deaths annually by the year 2010. The increased mortality is likely to be clustered in people of mid-adult years.

Microwave Thermotherapy For Treatment Of Prostate Disease
A new non-surgical treatment option that utilizes microwave thermotherapy to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) -- the common, non-cancerous condition of an enlarged prostate gland in older men -- is now available at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
