Get 'Research on the move' with BioMed Central

BioMed Central announces the launch of its new AvantGo research channel, an innovative new service, which offers researchers free access to biological and medical research abstracts on the move, via their handheld computer (whether Palm, Handspring or Pocket PC).

The BMC Research channel uses AvantGo software to update a user's handheld device with the latest research abstracts, published in BioMed Central's online peer-reviewed research journals, every time they 'sync'. A link to the full text of any article of interest can then be emailed to the reader the next time the handheld is connected to a PC.

This service can be personalized to deliver either biological or medical abstracts. Alternatively, registered users of BioMed Central can choose to receive details of all articles matching their preferred subject areas (such as Genetics, Cell Biology or Immunology).

This new service complements the popular BMC News AvantGo channel, launched in March 2001, which already delivers biological and medical news stories to over 1000 users every day.
