Chest Tumors -- Prevention, treatment and future perspectives

The European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) is pleased to announce, in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), the press conference on Chest Tumors: Prevention, treatment and future perspectives.

The press conference (30 March 2007, 12:00-13:00) is being organized within the frame of the ESMO International Symposium (EIS) on Chest Tumors (29 March - 1 April 2007), where a pool of international experts will be presenting cutting-edge research and state-of-the-art oncology for the treatment and cure of lung cancer and other rare chest tumors.

A special presentation will be given by Dr. Catherine Le Gals-Camus, Assistant WHO Director General Noncommunicable Diseases and Mental Health, about the WHO Tobacco Free Initiative and the importance of prevention. The press conference will be introduced by ESMO President, Prof. Hakan Mellstedt, highlighting the fields of collaboration between ESMO and WHO.

A media forum organized by Roche will also take place before the ESMO Press Conference. Eminent speakers will be addressing topics such as epidemiology; standards of care; biomarkers; anti-cancer agents.

A Roche-sponsored lunch will be offered to all journalists registered for the press events.

Register now by contacting media@esmo.org for the ESMO Press Conference and Anushka.paul@resolutecommunications.com for the Roche media forum.
