DOE JGI users to tout DNA sequencing achievements for bioenergy, climate, & bioremediation

More than 200 researchers from around the world, users of information generated by the industrial-strength DNA sequencing efforts of the U.S. Department of Energy Joint Genome Institute (DOE JGI), will convene in Walnut Creek, Calif. March 29 through April 1 for the first ever DOE JGI User Meeting.

In keynote presentations and poster sessions these researchers will reveal the manifold benefits to their respective disciplines from DOE JGI sequence information and the progress being made toward developing, among many others, new systems for harnessing plants and microbes for enhanced biofuels production.
