Experimental Biology 2006 meets in San Francisco April 1-5

What: More than 12,000 biological and biomedical scientists will gather for Experimental Biology 2006 April 1-5, 2006. This annual meeting, now in its 15th year, brings together scientists from dozens of disciplines, from laboratory to translational to clinical research, from throughout the United States and the world. The theme of Experimental Biology 2006 is "Advancing the Biomedical Frontier." Thousands of lectures, symposia, research presentations, and exhibits present the newest scientific concepts and research findings shaping current and future clinical advances.

When: Saturday, April 1 through Wednesday, April 5.

Where: Moscone Convention Center, San Francisco, California.

Who: Sponsoring societies of Experimental Biology 2006 are: American Association of Anatomists; The American Physiological Society; American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (this year celebrating its 100th anniversary as the scientific organization most specifically focused on the chemistry of life); American Society for Investigative Pathology; American Society for Nutrition, Inc.; and American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics. Experimental Biology includes the annual meetings of these societies. Fourteen U.S. and international guest societies further broaden the scope of the meeting.

Why: Throughout the week, scientists and reporters covering the meeting choose among scientific presentations listed in telephone book-sized programs, searchable CD's, and the "fast-breaking" announcements made during the meeting itself. What makes the meeting unique is the ease with which scientists can move outside the boundaries of their own specialty. EB 2006 allows scientists to share information with colleagues who are tackling similar medical problems and other biomedical research areas from the viewpoint and using the tools of many different disciplines.
