Harold Mooney, Professor of Environmental Biology at Stanford University is one of three Heads of Faculty for ecology. He warmly welcomes the expansion of the service to include ecological research:

Ilkka Hanski and Jane Lubchenco join Professor Mooney as Heads of Faculty for ecology. Ilkka Hanski is Professor, Department of Ecology and Systematics at the University of Helsinki in Finland, while Jane Lubchenco is Valley Professor of Marine Biology and Distinguished Professor of Zoology at Oregon State University. These respected leaders in the field have helped recruit over 150 experts to act as Section Heads and Faculty Members for the ecology faculty.
