A unique opportunity to tour one of the nation's top national laboratories dedicated to nanotechnology research, and talk to some of world's foremost researchers in this exciting field, is available to reporters and editors attending the American Chemical Society (ACS) national meeting in San Francisco in September and to other news media in the Bay Area.
Renowned nanotech pioneer Paul Alivisatos, Ph.D., of the University of California-Berkeley, will lead the media tour and briefing at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory's new Molecular Foundry (http://foundry.lbl.gov/) on September 12. There will be presentations by Alivisatos, who edits the ACS journal Nano Letters, and several other scientists. A question-and-answer session will follow.
The event, arranged by the ACS Office of Communications, will provide reporters who cover chemistry, materials science, medicine, health, environment and business with a rich source of information for news and background.
The tour/briefing is expected to run from about 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., followed by a reception. Transportation from the Moscone Center is being arranged by the ACS.
