Scope of the conference The aim of the conference is to:

• be a meeting place of academic and industrial researchers in this field;

• bring together the different disciplines that contribute to the design, analysis and optimization of metabolic pathways from gene to secreted products.

Of particular interest are the development and evaluation of novel host organisms, the designing of pathways for new products, and new mathematical and experimental techniques on whole cellular systems.

The focus is on fundamentals and applications such as industrial advances, theoretical/experimental results in core competences such as X-omics, functional assignment, integration of all information from all cellular levels, gene regulatory networks and genetic and metabolic network modeling.

The conference maximizes communication by means of keynote lectures, short lectures, many poster sessions, and workshops with tutorials and method /demonstrations.
