News conference announcing UA scientific initiative at Biosphere 2

The University of Arizona will announce a major scientific initiative taking place at the Biosphere 2 facility, and details about the future of Biosphere 2.

Following the news conference, guests will have the opportunity to tour Biosphere 2 and speak to UA scientists.

Biosphere 2 is a state-of-the-art 23-acre campus located in the foothills of the Catalina Mountains, 35 miles from the UA campus.

B-roll and high-resolution photos of Biosphere 2 will be available.

The schedule of the day's media activities is as follows:

10 a.m. News conference at Biosphere 2 campus

10:45 Biosphere 2 tours and interviews

Noon-1 p.m. Teleconference with UA scientists
