Springer acquires BioTribune Magazine and Biotribune.com
Leading information source for clinical biologists in France strengthens medical publishing portfolio
Heidelberg/Paris, 10 August 2006
Effective January 2007, Springer will publish BioTribune Magazine and Biotribune.com, both leading information sources for clinical biologists in France. This acquisition positions Springer in the field of clinical biology in France, and strengthens its existing medical publishing program.
BioTribune Magazine and Biotribune.com are read chiefly by clinical biology professionals working in laboratories. Published four times a year in French, the magazine contains editorials, news, clinical cases, review articles, interviews, conference reports, book reviews and new product information. English summaries for each article will be introduced in 2007. Biotribune.com is a database of reference texts in clinical biology and contains news and new product information from the field.
"BioTribune perfectly matches our current portfolio," says Guido Zosimo-Landolfo, Managing Director of Springer France. "Springer will now be able to offer even more to its subscribers. Biotribune.com will be supplemented with archives from Springer's other French journals, thereby increasing its archival value."
Isabelle Rivire, editor-in-chief of BioTribune Magazine, says, "I am very pleased with the agreement between BioTribune and Springer. It will certainly benefit our partners and readers, adding the expertise of BioTribune in biology to Springer's strong marketing and sales assets. We also share the same vision in terms of electronic distribution."
