Under the agreement, Wiley and AIChE will co-publish 10-15 books a year in the broad field of chemical engineering, including books in process safety and emerging technological areas like biological engineering and sustainability. Wiley will oversee the publishing services for these books including production, marketing, and distribution worldwide. AIChE will retain editorial control of the titles.
This is the second publishing agreement between Wiley and AIChE. In January 2004, Wiley assumed all publishing responsibilities for the Institute's three flagship journals "Environmental Progress," "Process Safety Progress," and the "AIChE Journal" including the publication of their online editions through Wiley InterScience (http://www.interscience.wiley.com), the company's online publishing platform. AIChE retained editorial control of the journals.
"Wiley is delighted to be extending our relationship with AIChE," said Janet Bailey, Vice President of Scientific, Technical and Medical Books and Reference Works, John Wiley & Sons, Inc. "By combining AIChE's status as a global leader in the chemical engineering profession with Wiley's recognized brand and knowledge of the market, we can ensure that must-have content is reaching AIChE members and the larger chemical engineering and industrial chemistry communities. This partnership further demonstrates Wiley's commitment to expanding its publishing programs in the fields of chemical engineering, process safety, biotechnology, occupational and environmental health and safety, risk analysis and management, and engineering design."
