Canadian researchers highlighting their work will be: Dr. Jillian Buriak, Canada Research Chair in Inorganic and Nanoscale Materials, whose work focuses on molecular and nanoparticle materials for device applications; Dr. Aled Edwards, Chief Executive of the Anglo-Canadian-Swedish Structural Genomics Consortium, a collaboration created for the purpose of increasing the number of protein structures of relevance to human health available in the public domain; Stphanie Cot, Gemini Astronomer at the National Research Council of Canada, whose talk will focus on measuring dark matter halos of galaxies; and Dr. Joerg Bohlmann, Associate Professor and Distinguished University Scholar in the Michael Smith Laboratories at the University of British Columbia, an internationally recognized leader in forestry genomics and whose work on the molecular basis for wine grape quality appears in the February 10 edition of Science Magazine. The workshop will showcase Canada's innovative research and explore components of Canada's innovation system, including funding and commercialization.
