Yale BioHaven Entrepreneurship Seminar series launched

New Haven, Conn. -- Yale Office of Cooperative Research and Connecticut United for Research Excellence (CURE) launch the Yale BioHaven Entrepreneurship Seminars series on Tuesday, December 13 from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Anlyan Center auditorium of Yale Medical School, 300 Cedar Street.

This seminar will feature Applied Spine Technologies (AST), a local surgical implant company that is developing the MBraceTM System, a stabilization device that supports the spine while preserving motion and flexibility. Speakers will be Tom Wood, CEO, Applied Spine Technologies and Manohar Panjabi, M.D., Professor of Orthopaedics & Mechanical Engineering, Yale University

AST, located in the technology incubator at 300 George Street in New Haven, was founded in February 2004 by Panjabi who is one of the world's leading authorities on spine biomechanics. They will tell their start-up team's story, and how the right technology found the right people at the right time. Their goal is to motivate new 'academic founders' to see that their dreams and ideas can be realized.
