2005 Award for Basic Research in Biological Mineralization

In 2000, Dr. MacDougall initiated the outreach program called "Dental Student Training in Academics and Research (DSTAR)", an early-intervention program targeting minority students to careers in dental academics. In 2002, she became the director of the dental schools training program "Craniofacial Oral-biology Student Training in Academic Research" (COSTAR), funded by the NIDCR at just under $4.0 million dollars. Her research has been featured in several publications, including Reader's Digest and Men's Health, as well as on several TV programs, including Discovery Health Channel's "The Painless Dentist".
