Civil rights campaign issues at Harvard

WHAT:
Reflection in Action: Building Healthy CommunitiesTM This day dedicated to the Civil Rights Movement includes a keynote address by NAACP Chairman Julian Bond, HMS faculty presentations about their extensive experiences in the Movement, a panel discussion about current civil rights, social justice, and health disparities issues, performances by young people from the community, and an award presentation to Boston public school children sponsored by the HMS Office for Diversity and Community Partnership. The awards will recognize creative works about the history of the Civil Rights Movement.

PLEASE NOTE: Journalists covering the morning events will be invited to join Mr. Bond for lunch with students from Harvard Medical School and from Boston public schools.
12:30 to 5:30: The afternoon Keynote Address and panel discussions are open to the public and the media. Registration is required.
