New publisher announced for Journal Of Pharmaceutical Sciences

The American Chemical Society will discontinue its joint publishing arrangement for the Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, effective on December 31, 1999, it was announced today. The American Pharmaceutical Association, which established this journal in 1927 and has published it jointly with ACS since 1993, will continue publishing the journal with John Wiley & Sons, Inc., beginning January 1.

Over the last six years ACS has enhanced the journal by adding many features, including an electronic version, and reducing the time to publish through the Articles As Soon As Publishable (ASAP) function. APhA now reassumes total responsibility for publishing a journal that is recognized as pre-eminent in the field.

The electronic archive of journal articles will be available through Wiley Interscience (www.wiley.com) in January 2000. Based on its participation in the Digital Object Identifier (DOI) project, ACS anticipates that all bookmarks that make use of the DOI address will continue to be valid after the transition is complete.
