Panel of experts to host Fred Friendly seminar

WHAT: Socratic Dialogue Seminar "Whose Patient Is This?" Physician panel members will explore the clinical challenges of treating a large population of complex patients and address the rising questions:

  • Is there a need for cardiologists to treat insulin resistance as part of overall cardiovascular health, in an effort to prevent the onset of type 2 diabetes?

  • What can be done to bring insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome to the forefront of the medical community?

WHY: Controlling insulin resistance can have a significant impact on preventing or delaying the onset of type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and stroke. Major health organizations and the medical community are recognizing that treating insulin resistance early before the onset of disease can significantly improve patients' quality of life.

Partners Against Insulin Resistance (PAIR) is a multidisciplinary team of experts who serve to provide the strategic direction needed to increase awareness and understanding of insulin resistance among professionals and the general public.

WHO: The discussion will be moderated by Arthur R. Miller, renowned Bruce Bromley Professor of Law at Harvard Law School, and produced by Fred Friendly Seminars, Inc. The forum is sponsored by the Partners Against Insulin Resistance (PAIR).
