The free event is sponsored by the Philadelphia Section of the American Chemical Society and will be held in conjunction with the Society's 228th National Meeting, Aug. 22-26. The American Chemical Society is the world's largest scientific society

Other organizations participating in the health fair are the American Cancer Society, The Susan G. Komen Foundation, the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, Independence Blue Cross, the U.S. Environmental Agency, the Philadelphia Health Department and the University of Pennsylvania Dental School.

Independence Blue Cross will provide information at the fair on free or low cost health coverage for children, on low cost adult insurance and on immunization. The EPA will focus on lead poisoning and asthma treatment and prevention as well as other environmental health issues.
