U.S. Surgeon General to discuss Year of the Healthy Child Campaign at Children's Hospital & Research Center at Oakland Interviews available to discuss Children's Hospital Oakland's successful childhood obesity programs

WHAT: U.S. Surgeon General Richard H. Carmona to discuss increasing rates of childhood obesity in the U.S.

WHO: U.S. Surgeon General Richard H. Carmona recently announced his Year of the Healthy Child agenda, which focuses on improving the body, mind and spirit of growing children

WHY: The U.S. Surgeon General was invited to Children's Hospital & Research Center at Oakland to share his vision of health care for the nation's children. He will specifically address the obesity epidemic in children

WHEN: Media organizations are welcomed to attend a noon conference on Tuesday, February 22, 2005 from 12:30 p.m. to 1: 30 p.m. No other media opportunities are available
