ALTRAN, the European leader in innovation consulting, will be present at the Ecobuilding Performance Forum trade exhibition that will take place on 8-9 November 2006 in Paris. The exhibition highlights the technical, economic and commercial presentation of products, cross-industry solutions and services that address the challenges of energy efficient sustainable development.
ALTRAN will present its contribution to the improvement of buildings' energy efficiency, energy management and the understanding and promotion of renewable energy sources with three "eco-innovating" concepts based on future technology, environmental issues and client needs.
ALTRAN will demonstrate the potential added value in the field of technology transfer and "Ecodesign" as the main driver for innovation. "Ecodesign" forms one of the pillars of the policy environment recently adopted by the EU, emphasising that a "green" product is not enough, but that the product's life cycle must be energy efficient. Energy-consuming products account for 40% of the CO2 emissions responsible for global warming, which are to be reduced under the Kyoto Protocol.
Examples of ALTRAN's contribution to energy efficiency building includes the design of the energy-saving innovations used in the 30 St. Mary Axe building, "The Gherkin", designed by Lord Foster, which will use half the power that a similar tower would typically consume.
The Ecobuilding Performance Forum will be a platform for institutions, energy suppliers, energy utilities, construction industry, contracting parties, decision makers, property owners, financiers and local and housing authorities to discuss economic solutions to environmental issues. ALTRAN will also give participants the chance to vote for one of their "Ecodesign" projects, and the winning project will be presented during the ALTRAN Days meeting in Brussels.
