Leaders from industry and national and international regulatory bodies will share perspectives on the shifting landscape of risk management for pharmaceuticals, medical devices, healthcare networks, food production, environmental control, and transportation at "The Congress on Global Approaches to Risk Management: Current and Future Developments," May 18-19 at the Hilton Washington DC in Silver Spring, Md.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), AdvaMed, and the Virginia Tech Center for Applied Health Sciences are conference sponsors.
Speakers include FDA Deputy Commissioner Janet Woodcock, USDA Deputy Undersecretary Merle Pierson, and Alf Dolan, convener of ISO 14971. The conference will also feature presentations by Daniel Schultz, director of the FDA Center for Devices and Radiological Health, and Robert Brackett, director of the FDA Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition, as well as scientists and policy makers from the World Health Organization, the European Union, the U.S. Public Health Service, and the Department of Homeland Security. Juxtaposed with these will be a number of distinguished speakers from industry and academia, creating a thoroughly balanced forum for productive discussion.
Topics will include legal risks, use of risk tools, human factors, enterprise risk management, total life cycle, environmental risk management, research & development, and risk communication.
